DuPont Named Among "Most-Admired" Companies

Spencer, IA: (Mar. 05) - The “War of Words” between agricultural giants Monsanto and DuPont continues.

The two rivals are embroiled in lawsuits over seed traits, and now they’re trying to out-distance each other in the realm of public opinion.

Earlier this week, we reported that Monsanto Company has been named as one of Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s top corporate citizens for 2010. Monsanto led the ag-products sector in the magazine’s rankings.

Now comes a press release from DuPont, saying they’ve been named to Fortune Magazine’s top 50 “Most-Admired” companies in the world. Fortune cited DuPont for its innovation, financial soundness, people management and social responsibility.

The two companies will square off again next Friday, when the U.S. Department of Justice holds its first field hearing on competition in agriculture in Ankeny, Iowa.
