Storm Lake Make Up Thief Arrested


Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake woman is arrested after an ongoing theft of cosmetics.
On Thursday afternoon, Storm Lake Police were dispatched to the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store in reference to a theft.  Upon arrival, police met with store staff who were detaining 18-year old Rebeca Ramos.  Store staff alleged that Ramos had stolen approximately $40.00 in make up items from the store.
  Police were further advised that store security had suspected Ramos of a variety of alleged thefts from the store for the past year and one half. Police searched Ramos’s purse and reportedly located approximately 50 items of nail polish and other make up materials which were identified as having been previously stolen from the store.

Police transported Ramos to the police station for questioning. During the investigation police acquired information that Ramos allegedly stole make up items, clothing and electronic items from the store on approximately 35 occasions during the past year.

Later that afternoon, Storm Lake Police executed a search warrant on Ramos’s vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot where they located and seized additional stolen electronic and make up items.

A few minutes later, police executed a search warrant at Ramos’s residence, and reportedly located and seized additional stolen make up and clothing items.

Approximately 150 stolen items were seized by police with a value of approximately $1,000.00.

Following an investigation police charged Ramos with On-Going Criminal Conduct, a class B felony, and 4th Degree Theft   She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $25,000.00 cash bond.
