Storm Lake Apartment Fire


Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — Storm Lake firefighters respond to a report of a fire in an apartment.

On Thursday afternoon, the call came in of a reported fire at 904 East Milwaukee Avenue, apartment 9. Upon arrival, it was found the complex was evacuated, and firefighters went in and extinguished a fire on a stove top.

A 43-year old male occupant of the apartment was checked over by EMS personnel. A newspaper was found lying on top of a hot stove, and was believed to be the cause of the blaze. Damage was estimate at $1000. Fire crews were on scene for about 25 minutes.
