Orange City, IA (KICD) — Fire destroyed a barn on a farm near Orange City.
Shortly before 3 Wednesday afternoon, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange City Fire Department responded to a barn fire, four miles north of Orange City.  Upon arrival, a barn owned by Peter Vander Zwaag of Orange City was found with heavy smoke coming from it.
The barn then rapidly became engulfed in flames.  It appeared the fire was started by a heat lamp inside the barn.  The barn and it’s contents are considered a total loss.  No injuries were reported.
Assisting at the scene was the Orange City Ambulance, Alton Fire Department and the Sioux Center Fire Department.
