O’Brien County Accident

Sanborn, IA (KICD)–A car versus van accident landed two in the hospital Monday morning.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Charlene Schwein of Hartley was heading west on Highway 18 just before 6:30 in a van. Schwein went to turn onto Highway 59 and failed to see an eastbound car driven by 18-year-old Megan Kroese of Sanborn. The collision caused Kroese’s car to spin around an hit a signpole.

Schwein was taken to Baum-Harmon Hospital by ambulance and was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn. Kroese was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.
