Sibley, IA (KICD)–Details from an accident last week have been released by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

57-year-old Deborah Roghair of Sibley was taken to the hospital after her car was rear-ended by a SUV driven by 33-year-old Shawn Huisman of Ocheyedan on Highway 60. Huisman was cited for Following too Closely.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A theft charge has been levied against a Storm Lake woman.

Police were told by the reporting party that he was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a criminal charge with a bond of $5,000 in February. They requested that 56-year-old Maria Cardenas retrieve $5,000 of their money and pay the bond so he could be released from jail, which Cardenas did. In October of 2014, the reporting party s criminal case was finalized and his bond money was returned however the bond money was returned to Cardenas which she then used for herself.

On Wednesday Cardenas was charged with a class D felony county of 2nd Degree Theft in connection with the investigation.

Peterson, IA (KICD)–A Peterson man was arrested last week.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a man having been drinking and left his residence in a car with a gun. Deputies and Spencer Police found 51-year-old

Anthony Lanus pulling into his driveway and it was found that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and did have an uncased bolt action rifle in the vehicle .

Lanus was held to appear before the magistrate on the charges of O.W.I. and Violation of Gun Conveyance.
