Wallingford, IA (KICD)–A Wallingford man faces charges after lying to authorities.

It is alleged by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office that 29-year-old Nathan Lear reported his Harley was stolen back in December . The bike turned up two months later in Indiana.

After investigation it was alleged that Lear made arrangements with a relative to take the motorcycle back to Indiana, made the false theft report and received nearly $13,000 through an insurance claim.

Lear has been charged with a class D felony count of 1st Degree Theft and filing a false report.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the other suspect involved.

Estherville, IA (KICD) — An Estherville man faces drug charges.

An Emmet County Deputy observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner Friday night. A search of 36 year old Jacob Longman’s vehicle turned up meth, pot and drug paraphernalia.

Longman was charged with possession of all three.
