As police were speaking with the victim outside of the apartment complex, 24-year-old Nathaniel Reed and 21-year-old Shannon Andrews of Storm Lake exited the complex at which time the victim identified them as two out of the three people who were in his residence. They were taken into custody and Police determined that 23-year-old Eric Spratt of Cherokee was also in the apartment complex.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man received a rude awakening by burglars on Tuesday morning.
Police were called to 205 West 6th Street, Apartment #7 at approximately 10:39 a.m. The victim stated that when he woke up he found three people had allegedly forced entry into his residence and were stealing money off of his kitchen table. When the three suspects saw the victim they fled from the apartment.
Police attempted to make contact with Spratt and allege they could see Spratt in the apartment but he retreated into an interior room and refused to answer the door. After continued attempts to get Spratt to exit they deployed a K-9 Unit. As officers approached the apartment door to deploy the police dog Spratt exited the apartment and surrendered without further incident.
Following investigation Police charged Spratt, Reed and Andrews all with 2nd Degree Burglary. All three booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond each.
Sibley, IA (KICD)–A Sibley woman was arrested after entering a home while intoxicated and refusing to leave.
On Sunday an Osceola County Deputy arrested 40-year-old Judy Stafford for Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and Interference with Official Acts with Officer Injury.
Stafford was released after posting bond.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)–Details from a mid month traffic stop that led to drug charges has been released by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
County K-9 Sasha indicated an odor of an illegal narcotic emitting from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, drug paraphernalia was found in the car.
The driver, 46-year-old Jaime Crosby of Spirit Lake was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and no valid insurance. The passenger, 44-year-old Kevin Duis of Harris, was arrested and charged with a class D felony count of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
