Estherville, IA (KICD)–A former Estherville man is accused of a burglary and assault.

A female Estherville resident told authorities that 32-year-old Adam Dahl entered her house on Thursday morning, assaulted her, took some of her property and fled the area on foot her house and into a wooded area.

Officers set a perimeter around the area and notified a nearby daycare of the situation and worked with them to lock the daycare down. K-9 Max was able to track Dahl into the wooded area and followed the tracks to the west. Dahl continued west and came out of the wooded area on Orchard Lane in front of the police K-9. The stolen items were located hidden near a culvert.

Dahl was charged with a class B felony count of 1st Degree Burglary, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree,
Domestic Abuse Assault and Violation of a Protective Order.

Hartley, IA (KICD)–A Hartley man was injured after falling asleep at the wheel.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old August Halbur was heading north on M-18 at 6:45 Thursday morning. He fell asleep, crossed the center land and went into the ditch. The car then struck a field drive and rolled several times before coming to a rest on its roof.

Halbur suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was cited for no insurance and failure to maintain control.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Primghar man faces multiple charges after being caught using the identification of another person to gain employment.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation on current inmate, 32-year-old Dionisio Montiel. Charges filed include identity theft, forgery and tampering with records.
