Archer, IA (KICD)–A South Dakota man was injured after hitting a deer.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Michael Otten of Hurley was heading west on C-49 shortly before 11:00 Saturday night on a Honda motorcycle. After striking the deer Otten lost control and both he and the bike slid down the roadway.

Otten was taken to the Primghar Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)–An Emmetsburg man faces assault charges.

Emmetsburg Police cited Rory Knowles on two counts of assault on a medical person and two counts of simple assault on Friday. The arrest came following a Friday incident at Palo Alto County Hospital.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man was charged after posting a Facebook message threatening to kill someone’s child.

26-year-old Steven Vorasith was living out of state when the initial complaint was filed. He was jailed on a number of charges this weekend and now faces a count of 1st Degree Harassment.
