Highway 60 Accident


Alton, IA (KICD) — A single vehicle accident resulted in three people being injured.

The Iowa State Patrol said the accident happened Monday evening, on Highway 60, south of Alton. Full details on the accident haven’t been released, but it was known a vehicle was traveling south on Highway 60, approximately 1 mile south of Alton, when it went into the median, crossing the northbound lanes, and then striking a fence, before coming to rest on railroad tracks.

Two males and a female all were seroiusly injured, and were taken to Orange Cith Hospital, after which one was airlifted to a Sioux City Hospital. The accident remains under investigation, with distracted driving being listed as a probable cause.
