Fish Kills In Iowa Great Lakes

Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)–A pair of natural fish kills were recently reported in the Iowa Great Lakes.

Iowa DNR Fisheries Biologist Mike Hawkins says a number of very small types of fish showed up along about a mile long stretch of shoreline on the east end of Big Spirit Lake.

Hawkins says a completely unrelated fish kill occurred on a broad portion of East Lake Okoboji.

Hawkins stresses that both of the fish kills were not from pollution and there should be no danger for humans.
