Spencer, IA: (Apr. 29, 2014) – A Dickens, Iowa woman is a regional winner in Monsanto’s America’s Farmers Mom of the Year contest.

Steph Essick is the contest’s Midwest regional winner. The designation comes with a $5000 prize and a chance to be named National Farm Mom of the Year.

Monsanto Marketing Communications Manager Tracey Mueller says Essick is an outstanding Regional winner.

Essick is actively engaged in a family farming operation. In addition, she is a spokesperson for Common Ground, a group committed to educating the public and answering questions about agriculture. She also is a member of the Iowa Corn leadership group, known as I-Lead.

As one of five regional contest winners, Essick is now in the running for National Farm Mom of the Year. The woman who receives the most votes between April 25 and May 6th will claim the honor, just in time for Mother’s Day, and an additional $5000 prize.

Monsanto’s Mueller says the deadline is May 6th at 11:59 p.m.
