Country star Trace Adkins is mourning the death of his father after he passed away over the weekend.

The news comes days after the You’re Gonna Miss This hitmaker left a rehab facility in Lake Worth, Florida last Wednesday to care for his ailing father, Aaron Adkins.

The country singer has yet to comment on the reports, but on Monday his wife, Rhonda, wrote on Twitter.com, “Thank you for all of your love, prayers and support. Sometimes we don’t know where our journey will take us but I know he has a plan.”

Adkins had been sober for more than a decade after completing a 28-day alcohol rehabilitation program in 2002, but decided to seek professional help following an altercation with an impersonator on a cruise he was booked to perform on last month.
