Country singer Toby Keith’s daughter Krystal is joining her famous father on his upcoming tour as an opening act.

The “Beer For My Horses” hitmaker is making his Shut Up and Hold On tour a family affair when it kicks off in May after enlisting his 28-year-old daughter to serve as a supporting act.

Krystal’s first full length album, “Whiskey & Lace,” was released last year and she’s eager to prove that she can make a name for herself, even without the help of her superstar father.

She tells country music site The Boot, “I have been singing since I was little bitty (small), and then doing competitions. Anytime I was in the circle of my dad, people always knew me as Krystal Keith. I had a small following that saw me grow up and sing in our local Opry (country music venue).

“There are going to be those people that don’t listen to the EP or album, and just decide things based on my name, but if they’re willing to listen to the music with an open mind, I think my music will stand on its own.”

The woman who as a child was the basis for the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is gravely ill. It was thought by many at the time that the psychedelic song from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band was a paean to LSD because of the initials in the title, but it was actually based on a drawing that John Lennon's young son Julian brought home from school. He told his father the drawing was of Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Lucy Vodden, now living in Surrey just outside of London _ drifted apart after schoolyard days, but they have gotten back in touch as Lennon has tried to help Vodden cope with Lupus, a life-threatening disease.
