ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — George Strait says the finale performance was “too much fun.” And the fans and fellow performers who shared the night with him would no doubt agree.

The country music icon wrapped up the last tour of his career Saturday night at the stadium in Texas where the Dallas Cowboys play.

Nearly 105,000 showed up to see him perform a series of duets with some of the biggest names in country music. And in keeping with his image as a patriarch of the genre, each of the performers who took the stage with him paid tribute to Strait — or got a hug from him.

Jason Aldean described Strait as not only “a huge influence” for him, but for everyone else in country music.
